George Pickens Latest Complaint: Calls Amon-Ra St. Brown A 'Slot Merchant', Only Gets Fed The Ball Because Of Offensive Scheme
George Pickens is doing a phenomenal job of trying to get out of Pittsburgh. He's doing a great job of at least having people talk about him, no matter how dumb it might seem. Calling Amon-Ra St. Brown a slot merchant is 1) hilarious because slot merchant needs to be used more and 2) so incredibly dumb. Production is production. This isn't necessarily a shot at St. Brown, but probably more at the Steelers offense since George Pickens thinks he's WR1. Not even WR1 of the Steelers dogshit wide receiver group, but rather WR1 of the entire league. No one gives a shit where you line up, go run a route and catch the ball. That simple.
Now part of this is Pickens calling out the Steelers offense. This is him figuring out a way to make sure they get him the ball. Again, he thinks he's the best receiver in the game and wants the ball. Wonder if he thought about being a slot merchant? That seems like the way to go if that's how you get the ball more.
Of course Pickens is somewhat right. Offensive schemes are tend to be set up to get your best players the ball. Seems basic. Seems like a smart idea, I know. But no one is a slot merchant, it's called being a damn good receiver. It's called having Ben Johnson as your offensive coordinator. Just hilarious that George Pickens of all people thinks he can call this sort of stuff out. Dude is wearing eyeblack saying he's always fucking open, committing terrible penalties and basically has annoyed every fanbase, including his own. It's only a matter of time before St. Brown responds too. He's not one to sit by quietly.
