Tennessee's Viral Dancing Kid Says Josh Heupel Needs To Open Up the Playbook Because the Offense Is Trash Right Now

If you're not familiar with this young man, he's getting a lot of credit for Tennessee finding a way to beat Florida on Saturday night. The Neyland Stadium game ops crew, presumably sensing the restlessness of a crowd watching the Vols be shut out in the first half for a second consecutive game, put this fella up on the video board seven or eight times to raucous cheers. He kept the fans in it for a good while.

Now, I'll be honest: I wasn't this kid's biggest fan. At first I just didn't love the fact that the Vols were scoreless deep into the second quarter against a dogshit Florida team and 100,000 people were going crazy for this dancing kid like we were at a Pacers-Magic game on January 23 — but that's not his fault. Where he really started to lose me, however, was when he took credit for the crowd even staying at the game at all.

I thought I was going to be on an island as the only Tennessee fan who was not worshipping at this child's feet. But then he went on the radio and called out the Vols' offensive play calling and totally won me over.

This kid might actually know ball, after all — I'm choosing to ignore the very end when he also derides the No. 2 total defense and No. 4 scoring defense in America. It's time for Josh Heupel and Joey Halzle to figure out how to put Nico Iamaleava in some situations where he's more comfortable and able to make plays, because what we're doing right now ain't working. And if they won't listen to anyone else, listen to the Dancing Kid.
