I Stand With Jessica Chastain Complaining About No TV's On Her 6 Hour Flight
NY Post- Oscar winner Jessica Chastain is being slammed on social media after she trashed JetBlue over a $15 credit for her in-flight entertainment.
The “Zero Dark Thirty” actress, 47, lashed out on X (formerly Twitter) in a since-deleted post after her “flight entertainment system” malfunctioned during a 6-hour flight.
“Thanks you @JetBlue for your $15.00 credit. My flight was $1,500 and the credit is 1/100 of the money I paid you,” Chastain’s deleted tweet posted on Wednesday read. “Strange that I paid that for your flight entertainment system that didn’t work for the duration of my 6hr flight, but I guess it was worth it for this $15 credit.”
When the service agent informed Chastain that she was issued the $15 credit, she responded, “I understand but I spent $1,500 on the flight and so did my husband. There should be some flight credit or something since I have a TrueBlue account and have been a loyal customer.”
Normally this would be a cue to Frank The Tank singing his patented , "we're better than you" Oscars mockery song about Hollywood elites and all the crap they do for themselves and no one else. Normally, I would back Frank with that take as most celebs are full of shit. However, here I have to back Ms.Chastain and let me tell you why.
It's not just about the tv's not working it's about the fact of what the tv's represent on a flight, and more so on a 6 hour flight. On a flight you try to do two things, sleep or watch a movie. At least I do. I know there's people trying to get work done with a laptop but the wifi's always spotty and the computer bounces around and your in a tight space hunched over etc. it makes it impossible. You can read a book, which I've done but always gives me a headache. So I've resorted to sleeping or watching a movie. It's the only options you have.
That TV whether you believe it or not represents an escape. It allows you to not think about the fact you are trapped in a seat too small on a plane with no real good air circulation next to someone also too big for their seat fighting over an armrest. Popping on a movie allows you to escape all of that for 2 hours and enjoy a nice little program to kill some time. And that's on a 2 hour flight ... a 6 hour flight is MISERABLE if you don't have any TV. Like horrible.
So yes I stand with Jessica Chastain for complaining about no tv and only being issued a $15 credit despite her being rich and living in a multi million dollar mansion because what isn't being told here is that in the friendly skies we're all equal. Just a run of the mill dope fighting over a seatrest trying to kill some time on a flight. She deserves to be compensated for how miserable a 6 hour flight is with no TV. Figure it out JetBlue.
