Pete Alonso's 2nd Inning Home Run Not Only Gave The Mets An Early Lead, But It Made Frank Fleming Smile At A Mets Game
Goddamn you LOVE to see it.
Frank The Tank's love/hate relationship with the Mets has been well documented around these parts. When the Mets fucked up, the Tank would erupt on them. When the Mets did enough to overcome their fuck ups, Frank The Tank would quietly wheel away because they were supposed to take care of their business.
But something funny happened after the Mets won Game 1 of that Braves doubleheader. Frank The Tank was replaced by Frank Fleming, the baseball savant who literally wrote the e-cyclopedia on sports and loves ball more than anyone on the planet. Frank Fleming is enjoying the ride the Mets have unexpectedly taken us on. He is having fun on the streams instead of ranting about the shortcomings of all 25 men on the roster and making up stats that even that fuck Buster Olney wouldn't pass off as fake news.
I don't know if it was the magic of this crazy ass season, the walks with Jenks, or a mix of everything. But we just witnessed the zenith point of this beautifully changed man. Frank Fleming being surrounded by his fellow positive fans smiling, dancing, shaking that ass at the first Mets playoff game he has ever attended. Things you truly love to see times a million.
