Only The Jets - Newest Report Says Robert Saleh Was Fired 5 Minutes After He Demoted Nathaniel Hackett From Calling Plays
Hell yes. It's been a great day for everyone to remember just how dysfunctional the Jets truly are. A legendary quarterback, a good defense, guys like Sauce and Garrett Wilson can't stop this franchise from doing what they do best. We've had reports of Robert Saleh getting escorted out by security, people waiting for Aaron Rodgers to talk about it, ridiculous stories left and right. It's truly the greatest gift the Jets have given us. We know they aren't going to win shit or be a well-run franchise so we can sit back and laugh at stuff like this.
The newest report says Robert Saleh demoted Nathaniel Hackett from play-calling duties 5 minutes before he was fired. No, not Hackett getting fired, that would make too much sense.
Typically I'd say this is likely bullshit, it's made up, it's exaggerated. But this is the Jets. There's no doubt in my mind Saleh got fired right after this announcement was made - coincidence or not. You don't get this sort of thought process as a franchise without stories like this being true.
I know this will make everyone think Aaron Rodgers played a part in the firing. I'm not saying that. I'm just saying this is a story that will make people say hmm all while being hilarious. Very few things in the NFL makes me as happy as watching Jets fans trick themselves into thinking this is the year, this is the staff, this is the quarterback and then we're barely into October and it's all over. Don't get me wrong, it's not 'over' since the AFC East is a mess and the Jets can be leading this thing, but the mental standpoint from Jets fans is where they think it's over.
I gotta admit though, I can't stop reading every single Jets story that comes out today. There's something beautiful about the dysfunction and it not being your team. Security? Yep, gonna read that. Wanting to demote Nathaniel Hackett and getting fired right after? You have my attention. Only the Jets could do this and have all these stories come out. It's impressive really. Should have made Hackett interim head coach after this report.
