Robert Saleh Had To Be Escorted Out By Security After Being Fired By The Jets
Yes, dysfunctional teams do dysfunctional things.
As to one specific thing that happened this morning, it’s a dysfunctional thing that didn’t happen the last time the Jets fired a head coach.
Per multiple sources, Jets coach Robert Saleh was escorted out of the building by the team’s director of security, after Saleh got the news.
That didn’t happen, we’re told, when the Jets fired Saleh’s predecessor, Adam Gase.
It’s not unprecedented, but it’s unusual. The Browns did it to G.M. George Kokinis in 2009. If there have been others in the past 15 years, I’m not currently remembering who and when they were.
For high-level employees of any organization, it’s a bad look. It’s a power play, plain and simple. It’s a stone’s throw from, for example, deliberately mispronouncing the former employee’s last name during the press conference regarding the move.
Of course, there’s a chance that will happen with Saleh, too.
This shows that there was probably way more beef behind the scenes than we thought. Was Saleh pissed at how Rodgers handled himself? Is he now the fall guy for Rodgers playing poorly while the defense holds it together? I can't imagine Saleh thought he should be fired. Arguably there were bad coaching mistakes but you can blame an OC or a DC for those. Saleh kind of always seemed like he was put together, a guy that couldn't get made fun off and clowned like a Hackett. He always was arms crossed no emotion on the sideline.
This could of been a sign of fear. crossing your arms is said to be a defensive passive
- Crossed arms: When a man crosses his arms, it could indicate defensiveness. Men often cross their arms when they feel intimidated or argumentative. Crossed arms may also indicate disinterest.
This dude was just intimidated the whole time trying to keep shit together while shit hit the fan. Thats why the arms were crossed. Definitely do not see this guy acting out to a certain degree and needing security to accompany him out.
Security may have been there due to a certain QB that may have had something to do with it.
Who knows what's happening? I do not see how this helps the Jets going to the playoffs. I do not think an interim head coach has ever won a Super Bowl so who knows whats going to happen.
