Kerry Carpenter Does The Unthinkable For The Tigers And Hits A 3-Run Homer Off Untouchable Emmanuel Clase To Even The Series!

Wow wow wow wow wow wow. What a baseball game in Cleveland! If you weren't a fan of either teams this was the perfect game, it had it all. The the best pitcher in baseball in Tarik Skubal absolutely shoving his way through 7 shutout innings with 3 hits and 8 Ks to stifle the Guardians offense. Meanwhile Cleveland battled with a slew of guys, neither pitching staff blinking until the 9th. Incredible defensive plays all around, Steven Kwan with a sick catch (maybe???) to end the 8th with guys at 1st and 2nd. Watch here, you be the judge.

It was reviewed and the call was upheld which I think was the right call, it's just so close and so hard to tell. I've watched it 56 times and have no idea. Parker Meadows did Parker Meadows things and made an incredible catch for Detroit up against the wall, it was truly an incredible game as a non biased viewer. Then we get to the 9th with Clase still in the game, this is your horse. The best reliever in baseball, 5 ER all year, 2 HR all year, a 0.61 ERA all year, that 2nd inning is always tough and it proved to be. Clase got the first 2 outs via a Spencer Torkelson K and a Parker Meadow pop out, but back to back singles got the Tigers momentum going and before you knew it we finally got some runs.

The man who will never buy a beer in Detroit again sends a ball out, the hardest hit ball Clase has given up in his career gives the Tigers a 3-0 lead which would end up being the final. Kerry Carpenter earned his Tigers stripes today with a homer off a guy who was legit untouchable, 5 earned runs all year….3 on this swing. WOW. What a moment for Kerry and the Tigers. What a way to grab momentum and head back home to a place that will be ROCKING on Wednesday.

Mostly all of these playoff games have been incredible, today was no different in Cleveland. This was a true October baseball game and man did we get a hell of an ending. Nothing beats playoff baseball, nothing. We've got a hell of a series on our hands.

PS. Time for Kerry to update that LinkedIn again, or just delete it. Detroit's new hero won't need to be looking for a job anytime soon.
