Mets Lose A Heartbreaker And Now We Have a Series
I changed this blog so many god damn times my head is spinning, but ultimately the Phillies big bats proved to be too much. Castellanos, Harper and Stott did us in. It's hard to be upset with this effort, especially after all the heroics late from Vientos and just how much this team fights, but ultimately a loss is a loss.
I still think we're in a terrific spot in this series with the fact that we went into the house of the most mutant fan base on earth and split two games, but facts are facts and we had an opportunity to put an absolute stranglehold on this series and couldn't get it done.
The big question on everyone's mind was going to Diaz in the 7th. I was for it. I know that's easy to say when he looked terrific early.
and it's hard to back him the way he looked in the 8th, but I firmly believe our best vs their best is how you play the game and that's exactly what they did. They went to Diaz vs the top of the order like you are supposed to. I have no issues with that. Did he look like shit in the 8th sure, but again, who the fuck would you rather see out there? Diaz is our best guy give him the ball every time and twice on Sunday.
Let's now talk about Chris Fucking Klemmer. Of all the people to say "isn't scary", Chris Klemmer saying Bryce Harper isn't scary is lunacy behavior. Just absolute lunacy behavior. Bryce Harper could have one hand tied behind his back and be using a wiffle ball bat and I'd still say he's scary, And right on cue … what does Harper do? Puts on the fucking moon.
As if that's not bad enough and clenched our assholes up real tight, by the time people are typing out congratulations… Castellanos parks one and it's a fucking tie ball game.
Shoutout to this guy … couldn't have said it any better myself. Don't ever say Harper isn't scary, are you mental?
It's very simple now it's 2 out of 3. And we have home field advantage. No place I rather be than be in that kind of spot with this kind of team. The never say die kids. See you Tuesday …
