Don't Worry Jags Fans, Everything Is Fine - Doug Pederson Thinks Being 0-4 Is Just 'Hard Times', Has To Argue A Report That He Lost The Locker Room
Hell of a week so far for Doug Pederson. Another loss, 0-4 on the year, lost 9 outta 10, Jerry Thornton (and everyone else) saying he broke Trevor Lawrence and there's no repair. Not what you want as the calendar just hits October in the football season. You want to have a little hope. You want to believe that your team can make the playoffs or at least entertain you for a few weeks. You at least would hope that this would stop before week 5.
Welll, Doug Pederson spoke again. It started with this report:
You hear stuff like this all the time when a team sucks. Coach lost the locker room, players only meetings, things like that. Then someone from the team or the coach comes out and says the opposite is true, this team has never been closer and hit all the cliches. OR Pederson comes out and say that's a lie because he sees the guys every day, which is one hell of an argument because it's factually correct:
Look, I get you want to keep things positive here. But you simply can't say 'if you really watch the tape with a calm eye' and then explain how you have mistakes and errors and it's just a setback. You can't get your ass kicked a week ago, lose to the Texans and have fans fired up because you're saying you're on hard times and can battle back. You gotta win a game man. We can make fun of the Panthers, but at least they won a game and look competitive with Andy Dalton. The Jags? They might need to be the team everyone truly makes fun of.
