The Newest Daniel Jones Problem For The Giants - The Man Can't Throw A Ball 20 Yards In The Air, Seems Important For A Quarterback

Outside of Malik Nabers being a star, all the flags and injuries, the only talking point I've seen from last night is that Daniel Jones throws a ball shorter than Weird Haircut Seth. Remember how bad that throw was?

Yeah, that's our starting quarterback right now. I don't even think he was awful last night. He hit those intermediate passes, that's important. But the fact that Daniel Jones can't throw a ball over 20 yards cost the Giants the game as much as anything else. The first big play to Nabers? That's six if he gets a decent pass:

Then on that free play to Darius Slayton he underthrew him to the point I assumed the ball slipped. Nope. That's just how Daniel Jones throws a deep ball now. It's not even like Jones is running for his life back there. The Giants offensive line is pretty decent! He has time to step into throws and you know, be an NFL quarterback. But whether it's the ACL injury, the neck injury, some other injury, Daniel Jones can't throw a ball in the air longer than 20 yards. That's not even far. Kids throw the ball 20 yards in the air.

The only solution I can think of for the rest of the season is simple. Bring in Drew Lock as the anti-Wildcat quarterback. Instead of lining up a running back where everyone knows it's a run, bring in Drew Lock where everyone knows he is likely launching it deep. It's gotta work. I mean we still see the Wildcat work! What's the worst case scenario? An interception? Lived through numerous of those already.

We finally have an offensive line. We finally have 2 wide receivers who can make plays. Now we have a quarterback who is basically forced to throw every ball between 5-15 yards because that's all he has in his arm. Good times!
