We Have To Stop Proposing At Sporting Events (Especially Ones Where The White Sox Are Attempting To Make History For Being The Shittiest Team Of All Time)

I saw this tonight and laughed out loud. And then I immediately felt horrible for poor Veronica.

Then I wrote that blog headline while still feeling bad and jotted down a few sentences about to lecture men on being more considerate of their woman's feelings, and special moments, and the more I thought of it, the more I realized how dumb that is and how hilarious this is.

There's a high probability this is fake- but working for the team across town for 7 years and knowing what goes into buying these video board messages and the process, I also know it's not the easiest thing in the world to do.

But let's say this is actually real.

I was originally writing that that's as selfish as selfish gets for us men.

But it's actually fucking laugh out loud funny.

Every single person in your circle- both your families, all your friends, both your coworkers, your priest, your neighbors, everybdoy you come into contact with for the next 6 months or so that you inform you got engaged, or that already heard, is obligated to ask you, "so how'd he/you do it?"

(Followed immediately by, "so when's the wedding?")

"He did it in the middle of the 5th inning at the White Sox game where they were about to lose their 121st game of the season..."

(Sidebar - it is fucking hilarious that for the first time this entire season the White Sox fans turned out and packed the stadium tonight to take this all in. And the White Sox being the fucking White Sox, couldn't even let their fans enjoy that.)

So yah, I'm rambling now, but this blog was gonna be about how cringe it seems watching women get proposed to at sporting events, because it doesn't really seem like the kind of places or events that have much meaning or sentimentalness to them, but then I remembered that I'm a fucking idiot, and loser who knows nothing about being engaged, so on second hand, maybe these guys are the smart ones after all.
