"I've Gotten Married And Divorced, And Had Two Kids" - It's Been A Wild Ride For Most Phillies Fans Since The Last Time They Won The NL East

13 years is a long ass time. A lot can change over the course of 1 year, let alone stacking 13 of them up on each other.

Just think about what your life was like during that stretch from 2007-11. I know the broadcast touched on this a little last night and said otherwise, but I 100% took those division championships for granted back that. For me that was sophomore year of high school through sophomore year of college. Just a young, dumb kid who thinks they know way more about the world than they actually do. The Phillies start locking down the division for 5 straight years and I figured that's the way it was always going to be for the rest of eternity. That winning the NL East was just some annual tradition you could count on every September.

And then came the dark times. 13 years of not even really coming close to winning the division again. If you had a kid the day after game 5 of the 2011 NLDS, they are in 8th grade right now and have never seen the Phillies win the division until last night. This fella here got married, had 2 kids, likely got divorced sometime in 2015 when the Phillies lost 99 games that season, and now probably woke up with some 26-year-old in her Old City apartment this morning after celebrating the first NL East title since 2011. Couldn't be happier for this man.

Speaking of having kids, I love the new tradition of Phillies players going full Lion King with their kids on the balcony at Xfinity Live! after clinchers.

Just slightly more wholesome than anything going on in the clubhouse...

Now sober up and get back to work. The division is great but you heard John. Get that man his fucking trophy back already.
