It Sure Looked Like Some Scumbag Saints Defender Spat On DeVonta Smith As He Laid Motionless On The Ground

Listen. Sometimes things get picked up on the broadcast that aren't actually what they appear to be. And even if this was a loogie spat at DeVonta Smith after he was laying motionless on the ground without his helmet on, sometimes mucus is just flying around everywhere when you're playing sports. These guys are flying around at a million miles per hour and they can't always control where their spit ends up. There are plenty of reasons to give an athlete some benefit of the doubt here......
....except for when they play for the New Orleans Saints. They are easily one of the scummiest organizations in all of sports, and I have no other choice but to believe Payton Turner is one of the biggest pieces of shit the game has ever seen.
The initial hit on DeVonta was dirty enough. The fact the refs didn't already whistle that play dead is baffling to me. But you have clear helmet-to-helmet contact. Then Payton Turner decides to dive head first onto DeVonta Smith as he's already down on the ground with his helmet popped off. And to make the biggest shit show of a play even more disgusting, he hocks a loogie on Smith as he's down on the ground with trainers running out to get him.
Unbelievable what a piece of shit this guy is. Unbelievable what a piece of shit the entire Saints franchise is. It's almost as if you have to be one of the worst humans on the planet in order to put on their uniform. Keep in mind that a few minutes later, Trevor Penning did this to Darius Slay.
Dirt ball players on a dirt ball team. It may not have been the prettiest win for the Eagles today, but any win over those scumbags is good enough for me right now. Would have been nice to let Jalen Carter loose and even up the score a little bit, but Tyrann Mathieu can go to sleep tonight thanking the Eagles staff for saving him.
