Anthony Richardson Threw The Worst Interception Of The Year, Rumors Swirling That He Might Not Be The Guy

I'm not sure what happened to Anthony Richardson after Week 1. Week 1 was so promising. The Colts didn't win. He threw an interception. But he also had 212 yards passing, 56 yards rushing, and 3 total TD's. And one of those touchdowns was maybe the best touchdown pass a quarterback has thrown all season.

Unbelievable arm talent strength. I'm not sure I can in good conscious call it talent. Talent is all encompassing. I'm not a talented chef if I always know exactly when to take a dish out of the oven, but everything I make is completely inedible because the contents of the dish go terribly together. That might not be the best example, but you see what I'm driving at.

Regardless, Colts fans had hope after Week 1. At least I did. Maybe I shouldn't have. Had I actually looked at the big picture of the game, instead of clinging to the few eye-popping highlights that went viral on the internet, I might have seen this coming.

Maybe FIRST ROUND MOCK was right. Because ever since then, Richardson has been a disaster. The first interception he threw today, the one in the end zone in the clip up top, was truly one of the worst interceptions thrown in the history of the NFL. His second one wasn't much better.

He's airmailing passes left and right. It's not like he's being pressured either. His offensive line is fantastic. It's almost like he has too much time to think. Like he has the yips or something. I've never heard of a quarterback having the yips. Quarterback doesn't seem like a position that should be prone to yips. Throwing a football is such a natural thing. But he sure looks the part. To be honest, he may have been born with them. He's very possibly had the yips his entire football playing career, but people were so blinded by his speed, his size, and his ability to throw a football 200 yards sitting Indian style. You'd really think someone with all that ability would be able to figure out how to complete a 10-yard slant to a wide open receiver in a perfectly clean pocket. Or even a fucking swing pass that isn't 3 yards out of reach of his running back

In my opinion, can't give up on the guy yet. At this point, you might as well play out the season. If he really does suck that bad, the Colts will end up with a terrible record and a high draft pick. They'll find another quarterback either in the draft or free agency. Then start the whole thing over again.

Or maybe he miraculously becomes accurate. There's still a part of me that thinks he will. It's just that the missed throws he makes.. some of them look so easy. Just throw the ball 10 feet lower my guy. How can a person with that much talent not be able to figure that out? It doesn't make any sense. Plus he still occasionally does things like this…

I've said this before, but Anthony Richardson could simultaneously be a complete bust, yet also end his career with 3 or 4 of the best throws the NFL has ever seen. He has potential to be the most electric bust of all time.

I'm writing blog at the end of the 3rd quarter. The Colts just scored to take a 14-3 lead. And to Anthony Richardson's credit, he contributed to the TD. Obviously not by throwing the ball. But I appreciate him getting in there and pushing the pile.

Whether the Colts win or lose this game is irrelevant to their situation (now the Bears just scored a TD, so I'm afraid the Colts might actually drop this one). Regardless, I'm afraid the Colts have a quarterback problem on their hands. I still think you give AR the rest of the year. But I'm far more worried now than I've ever been since Anthony Richardson was drafted.
