Credit To Rebecca Black On Still Being Able To Make A Career Out Of "Friday"

It can't be easy when your entire existence essentially gets turned into a meme. Rebecca Black sang one song in 2011 and, for better or for worse, her life was forever changed because of it. I'd imagine mostly for worse. Not many people can handle the amount of negative attention that something like that would draw in. You either have to overly lean into it and eventually drive yourself towards insanity, or you have to try to fall back into obscurity only to be constantly reminded by people asking, "hey! aren't you the girl who sang that dog shit song about how days of the week work?"

Fact of the matter is that when people become memes, they rarely ever make it out on the other side unscathed. But to Rebecca Black's credit, she seems to be doing great. And let me just set the record straight right here--this is a blog solely about Rebecca Black still being able to make a career out of "Friday". Surely there's no other, or two other, reasons to be writing this blog right now. 13 years later and it's safe to say the song has gotten better with age.

P.S. -- "Friday" in 2011. "Gangnam Style" in 2012. "What Does The Fox Say" in 2013. Sometimes I find it hard to believe the early 2010s were a real time in human history.
