The Celtics Supposed New City Edition Jersey Has Been Leaked And It Is Complete Dogshit

Ever since Nike took over the NBA jerseys, their designs have been mostly "meh". I'm a firm believer in not overthinking things and just re-running the classics with a 2024 spin, but instead, we seem to be getting all these futuristic designs and schemes that frankly, miss the mark.

As we prepare for this year's batch of City Edition alternate jersey designs from Nike, I couldn't help but notice what has been leaked on my timeline. Keeping in mind that this is just a rumor and the final look could be different, there is no other way to say it. The 2024-25 leaked Celts City Edition jersey might be the worst-looking jersey in the entire history of the franchise

Serious question. What the fuck? Will the disrespect towards the defending NBA Champions ever stop? Is this payback from Nike towards Jaylen Brown for all the Team USA bullshit? Because I'm sorry, I need answers. Usually when these leaks come out and people rush to try and spin the final version might be different, but they rarely are. We did have that one year where Enes Kanter tweeted one out and the coloring was a bit off, but the overall design was the same, so I'm inclined to believe this is both real and what's planned for the upcoming season.

Disaster. That's the only thing I can say about it. A complete and utter disaster. A slap in the face to the most successful organization in the NBA who also happens to have the most timeless jersey in not just the NBA but perhaps all of sports. You see the picture at the top of this blog? That was last year's City Edition and they weren't terrible. Not blow your dick off awesome but not the worst thing we've ever seen. Even dating back to 2021-22, how do we go from these

To that leaked bullshit? How is there no one in these meetings that says "You know what, this stinks?"

It's not like all of this year's City Editions are bad, take the Jazz or Raptors for example

so again I ask, how is it possible that of all these teams Nike decides to make the Champs jersey complete dogshit? I'm not a conspiracy guy but at the same time….

I don't want to be dramatic or be a prisoner of the moment, but in the history of my life I don't think I've ever seen a worse Celts jersey and I lived through the grey-sleeved era (shoutout Isaiah)

You know what, now that the shock has worn off and the more I think about it, maybe we should be thanking Nike for this. We already had the extra motivation heading into the year with the Jaylen/Tatum Team USA bullshit, then we got to add Joe Mazzulla being ranked the 12th best coach in the NBA, and now we can add this to the list. If I know Psycho Joe like I think I do (I met him once earlier this summer nbd) he'll be able to use this as yet another instance of disrespect. Something about how Nike doesn't even respect them enough as champions to give them a jersey that isn't dogshit while teams who have won nothing get awesome designs.

Use it as the latest example of the haters and losers of which there are still many (Nike included) not wanting to see the Celts on top. Us vs The World Vol 2.

We all saw how that worked out last year (80-21, NBA Champions), so in a weird way I welcome to additional motivation.
