The Titans Have Taken A Page Out Of Florida State's Playbook And Are Using A Hose To Spray Down The Running Backs In Drills To Get Ready For Hurricane Francine
We've seen an influx of random and wild football drills in the last few days and I think we can add one more to the folder. Most of these hilarious drills include a hose, slip and slide, some sort of water activity and the Titans decided to join the club. With the remnants of Hurricane Francine expected to hit Nashville with the Titans and Jets playing this weekend the coaching staff needed to get creative to show these guys how to handle some wet balls. Break out the hose pipe baby!!!! We're hosing down the ball carriers as another coach uses a parking cone on his hand to make sure these guys know how to hold onto a slippery ball. Sometimes you've got to get creative and figure out a way to keep your players engaged and fresh, spraying them down on a hot day will certainly do the trick. Now this coach wasn't full on spraying them down like the Ravens coaches were, but it was a nice little sprinkle to help replicate the incoming storm. Gotta do what you gotta do to keep your guys prepared and ready, I love the initiative from the coaches to soak these guys.
I also love how advanced we've become in sports and how every piece of equipment we have is tracking every bit of information we could ever need, we can replicate anything and everything to help prepare teams.....but sometimes you just need to break out the old hose and spray a grown man down to help him know what it feels like to be wet while trying to do his job. I'd think the remnants of a major hurricane will be a little heavier than this stream of water but at least the running backs will be prepared ahead of time. 0 fumbles for the Titans skill position guys this week, no chance one of these guys lets one slip through their hands. All thanks to running backs coach Randy Jordan and his hose pipe.
PS. Is hose pipe a southern thing? Why wouldn't you just call it a hose? Hose tube would make more sense, it's not really a pipe? Idk, I've never heard it called a hose pipe.
PPS. Can't watch someone get sprayed with a hose and not think of this scene from Billy Madison
