RIP James Earl Jones, The Most Iconic Voice In Cinema And A Man That Brought Magic To Movies
(Deadline)James Earl Jones, the revered actor who voiced Star Wars villain Darth Vader, starred in Field of Dreams and many other films and is an EGOT winner, died this morning at his home in Dutchess County, NY. He was 93.
When you hear of James Earl Jones, Vader is obviously the first thing that comes to mind. His voice was the backbone of the most iconic movie villain in movie history which is an insane accomplishment in its own right. On top of that, he was also a 1st lieutenant in the U.S. Army, prolific theater actor, EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony) winner, and icon in other childhood classics like 'The Sandlot' and 'The Lion King'.
To me, he was an actor whose presence truly brought out the magic of movies. Whether it was delivering the Luke line, or just talking to Smalls in that dusty room, Jones had this enchanting quality that made everything he was part of feel special. He was one of the greatest actors of his generation and we will all miss him terribly.
Anyway, let this be a celebration of life. Here are some of my favorite Jones scenes.
(This is a theater scene but one I watched that is super impressive)
