Deion Sanders Reportedly Told the Colorado Band It Can't Play the Fight Song After Shedeur Sanders Throws a Touchdown Pass so the Stadium Can Play His Rap Song Instead

This is a pretty great embodiment of where Colorado is as a football program right now. Sure, you're despised by pretty much the entire country. And yeah, you might not be winning many games despite insisting on being the center of attention. But at least when your quarterback does manage to put points on the board at home, you can ditch your fight song that's been around for 100 years and listen to his latest single, instead.

I don't know how much longer the Coach Prime experiment is going to last in Boulder, but I have to imagine even the Colorado fans that have been the most ardent supporters of the new-look Buffs will grow tired of this rather quickly if things don't turn around this season. I'm sure "Perfect Timing" would be a smash hit with CU fans if the team was winning, but it sounds a little worse when you're squeaking by FCS teams and getting blown out by Nebraska.

And what happens in 2025 when Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter are gone? The team is losing right now with two first round picks. If you're not getting it done now, I'm not sure how much better it's going to get when you're bringing in a new quarterback and playing without one of the best two-way players we've seen in college football.

If it's any consolation, opponents seem to love the song.
