A 3 Year Old Story About USC's Miller Moss Farting on His Roommate's Pillow Has Resurfaced for Some Reason

Being the star quarterback of the USC Trojans comes with certain advantages. You're automatically one of the most recognized and celebrated athletes in the country. You're almost guaranteed a legitimate shot at a Heisman and all the opportunities that provides. No less than five USC QBs have been selected in the Top 10 of the NFL draft since 2003. It certainly can't hurt when you're trying to break the ice with some coed. Not to mention what sort of NIL money comes with such a high profile role.

Then again, a lofty position such at this brings certain disadvantages. Even if, like Miller Moss, you lead your team to a dramatic, last minute victory over a ranked opponent. In the words of the great John Bender, "The world is an imperfect place." Filled with petty, vindictive people, determined to tear down more successful people. And ready to dredge up old grievances in order to do so:

Source - TMZ Sports has learned Miller Moss -- the star quarterback who helped lift the Trojans to an upset win over No. 13 LSU this weekend -- was investigated by USC a little less than three years ago ... after he was involved in a feud with his roommate.

The probe occurred sometime in the spring of 2022 -- just after the signal-caller had finished his first season at Southern Cal. ...

"Two and a half years ago," Moss said, "the University conducted an investigation related to a personal dispute between me and a roommate. I fully cooperated and took accountability for my decisions, and the matter was resolved."

"I regret my actions and have grown and learned from this matter, and my focus is on the season ahead."

Video we obtained -- which we're told was captured near USC's campus between April 22 and May 3, 2022 -- appears to show Moss in his roommate's space ... rummaging through belongings.

In one clip, Moss can been seen grabbing a tee on the bed -- before telling someone off camera, "I'm stealing this shirt, dude." In another, he can be seen farting into a pillow he took off the bed ... before telling someone in the room to "take" a jacket out of the closet.

Note that I tried to find a copy of the video that I could embed here, but came up empty. It's in the link above, but don't get your hopes up. It's terrible quality. Obviously taken with a "nanny cam" hidden on a desk or shelf.

This is one of those situations where two things can be true at once:

1. Miller Moss pulled a dick move, inviting his friends in to go through his roomie's stuff and farting on his pillow. That is wrong every time it's tried.

2. Whoever sent this video to TMZ pulled a dick move. Dredging up something from two and a half years ago that someone was already disciplined for and apologized for is equally wrong.

I'll argue, even more so. Because the first wrong was a college freshman doing something stupid to make his buddies laugh. Which, in case you haven't noticed, is about 75% of all college freshman behavior. The second wrong was a deliberate attempt to shame a public figure just as he's coming into his own. For no reason other than revenge.

For their part, the university is saying they don't discuss closed cases such as this. For his part, Lincoln Riley gave it a good leaving alone other than to point out - correctly - that the timing of this video's release is highly suspect:

… and defend Moss' character. Which doesn't feel like your typical coach saying glowing things about a player just because he needs that player and spent $1.5 million to lure him back from the transfer portal. Because, despite being a redshirt junior, Moss has already graduated and is working on his graduate degree.

But regardless of whether he's St. Thomas Aquinas or just Farty McFartpillow, running around campus boofing into everybody's Memory Foam, there's not a coach in the country who's going to get his pleated khakis in a bunch over an infraction from 2022. Not when the guilty party threw for six touchdowns stepping in for Caleb Williams in the Holiday Bowl, and started this season with 378 yards and a win.

That is the reality whomever leaked this video to TMZ has to accept. The advantage of being Southern Cal's next big star trumps the disadvantage of having small, insignificant nobodies trying to ruin your life. A year from now, Moss might be a Heisman winner about to go in the Top 10 in the draft. But that guy will still be the one who slept in his gas.
