NETFLIX

1. Rebel Ridge

I've been hearing some good things about this action movie. Pretty classic plot (small town vet gets harrased by corrupt cops). Basically, it's Walking Tall.

2. Edge of Tomorrow

I've said it many times but this is one of the most underrated sci fi movies of the past 10+ years. Cool story, great actors and the CGI is as good if not better than any modern movie.

3. Stand By Me

This classic slice of Americana is always worth rewatching. I hear it even has a fantasy football expert in the cast.

OUT NOW: 300, 5 Centimeters Per Second, Along Came Polly, Dragnet, Field of Dreams, Jaws, Legends of the Fall, Midnight Run, Magic Mike, Paul Blart, Shark Tale, Sonic the Hedgehog, Stand By Me

MAX

1. The Penguin

I loved 'The Batman', so anything further we can get out of the Reeves-verse in the seemingly endless gap between Batman 1 and 2 is good with me. Plus, Farrell was a huge highlight of the movie in his own right.

2. Boogie Nights

This is the movie that rightfully convinced everyone that Mark Wahlberg is a good actor and he has been fighting to beat that reputation ever since.

3. Prisoners

This movie was insanely underrated for a long time but I think it's now standardly accepted as one of the best thriller movies of the last decade or so.

OUT NOW: Anaconda, Boogie Nights, Everything Everywhere All At Once, Harry Potter Franchise, Independence Day, Knight and Day, Marcel the Shell with Shoes On, Role Models, The Exorcist, The Martian, The Shining

Sept 6th: The Boy and the Heron

HULU

1. Sicario

I shouldn't have to pitch anyone on one of the best movies of the century. The border scene alone is worth the price of admission.

Yorgos isn't everyone

3. The Old Man S2

This was a quietly solid series featuring a few of our greatest older actors. Excited to see what they do in S2
