It's Time to Destigmatize the Midlife Crisis
On today’s episode of KFC Radio, Kevin made the brave confession that he thinks he has potentially hit midlife crisis territory and his hobby of choice is building a model house.
By the reaction from Feits and Jackie you would have thought that he had just admitted to collecting fingernail clippings or getting his seventh cat…he’s just making a model house! All it sounds like to me is a grownup version of Legos. I think he has to be applauded for never losing his dinosaur.
We should all be pro destigmatizing the midlife crisis anyway because guess what? I hate to break this to you, but it’s gonna come for us all at some point. The nice thing about it is it typically comes along with something really cool. Some guys buy a new sports car, some get season tickets to their favorite sports team, some smooth things over with their brother and reunite a massive rock band, and some…build model houses. Nothing wrong with that. Completely normal midlife crisis hobby. Find a new slant.
I think my midlife crisis hobby is probably just gonna be golf? I do that already so maybe I just hit it super early but I’m not sure that there’s any better way to make the years go by than being out on the links. Hopefully the actual midlife crisis era of my golf game can get my handicap to be below a 25. Probably not, but a guy can dream. If all else fails I’ll just make the Taj Mahal of model houses.
