Texas Tech HC Joey McGuire Will Not Be Shamed Out of Dancing With His School's Cheerleaders Like the Icon He Is

You may remember this photo from last December. It was as if the whole world came down with the same case of temporary amnesia at the same time and forgot that there is nothing more All American than this. The two great icons that are The Football Coach and The Cheerleader together. They're as much a part of our cultural identity as any archetype our nation has ever produced. And this wholesome photo, celebrating the success of the program they're a part of, exemplified that.

But because everything is terrible now, that one harmless image inspired a ridiculous public backlash:

But I'm happy to report not everyone in college football is as easily cowed as the administration at Coastal Carolina. In the proud tradition of Red Raiders football, Texas Tech head coach Joey McGuire jumped right into the fray. Not only posing for a photo with his team's cheer squad, but proudly joining in. Critics be damned:

Take that, haters. Go clutch your pearls on someone else's time. Fall on your own fainting couch. Because Coach McGuire is bringing his sweet dance moves and Born in the '70s energy to spreading cheer in Lubbock. As well as striking fear into hearts all across the Big 12. 

That's the kind of positivity we need to show in these culture wars. If others think a coach and a dance team interacting is  somehow perverse, that's a them problem, not an us problem. Where they see creepy behavior, we normies see school spirit. Where they see inappropriateness, we see pep. What they think is untoward, we think is very toward. 

So thank you, Coach McGuire, for striking a blow for all that is good and wholesome in this great land of ours. And to Brenley Herrera of the former National Champion Texas Tech Cheer Team, thank you for including him, posting it, and helping to right the wrong Coastal Carolina did to their program. Go, Red Raiders.
