Six Flags Riders Left Dangling 243 Feet In The Air On A Ride. Which Begs The Question ... Why Would An Adult Go To An Amusement Park?

UPI News -- A ride shut down in the middle of a storm at Six Flags Mexico, leaving those aboard dangling 243 feet in the air for about 10 minutes.

Omar Hernández Medrano was among the passengers on the Supergirl Sky Flight ride, also known as the Sky Screamer, at the Mexico City amusement park last week when the ride ceased operation during heavy rain and winds.

The rides resumed operation later in the day. No injuries were reported.

Don't get me wrong, amusement parks were an intricate part of growing up for me. Every year we hit Hershey Park. Got up at the crack of dawn and rode every ride we could, especially roller coasters, until the place literally had to throw us out. It was awesome, and as you looked out on the rides, countless other families did this as well. The same can be said for Six Flags or whatever other amusement park people went to growing up. They were all equally awesome as a kid growing up.

Amusement parks as an adult ... totally different story. I went with my younger brother a few years back and my god did the place hit different. Those hills you didn't mind walking as a kid got tougher at 33, the lines of people were not fun they were annoying, and worst of all the rides seemed to bang you around WAY worse than before. After 1-2 coasters I was done for the day. I used to hit 10+ in a day and be dying for more. Now ... no chance.

Now add in the fact I could be stuck dangling 243 FEET ABOVE THE GROUND FOR 10 FREAKING MINUTES at one of these places ... no chance. Amusement parks are for the birds as an adult. Absolutely done-zo. Thank God everyone ended up ok with this thing, maybe next time they'll think twice about spending the day waiting in lines and getting a headache on coasters.
