You'll Never See Anyone Better At Catching Home Runs In Their Hat While In The Bullpen Than Cionel Pérez

One thing that Orioles reliever Cionel Pérez loves doing is getting big time outs in high leverage spots. But that is his job, it's not his hobby. His biggest hobby is posting up in the bullpen and catching Orioles home run balls with his hat. 

Yes, you heard that right. No one in baseball is better at catching dinger balls in his hat, Perez is the undisputed king of bullpen vibes and HR catches. He's really made it his own thing. On Sunday Night Baseball they showed a little hype video about it and what do you know? Ramón Urías goes yard later in the game and who is right there to catch it? Pérez and his hat. 

It takes a lot to catch a ball in the hat, have to track it well, make sure you get the hat in the right position, and then have to make sure that bad boy isn't falling out. Pérez can't stop catching dingers. Makes Zack Hample blush!

Last night's catch was his 5th on the season, if the O's keep hitting bombs he has a chance to hit double digit catches. They're 3-2 in his hat catching games so the O's are winning at a 60% clip when he catches a dinger. Maybe the O's should just try to hit it into their bullpen every time? Think they'd win more games if they did. But it's funny to watch a ball go up in the air and Pérez' set up camp in the pen trying to catch it. What a great talent to have and decide to whip out. Gotta keep those pen guys loose, Cionel has found a way to do that. 

We need celebrations from him after he catches one too, hit us with a "Are You Not Entertained"? Keep catching those dingers Cionel, congrats on grabbing one on National TV as well. Showed the whole country how smooth you are.
