We Got To Interview Real Life Rancher And Former Rodeo Stud Cody Johnson And He Invited White Sox Dave and I To Come Brand Cattle With Him

We got a hell of an opportunity to interview headlining act, and country super star Cody Johnson last month.

"CoJo" is a monster country music artist, from the heart of Texas, Huntsville to be exact, and he is known for his authentic neo-traditional style that resonates with fans of classic country icons like George Strait and Willie Nelson.

He's become a prominent figure in the "back to country" movement, and his music often reflects his background as a former bull rider, emphasizing cowboy values and lifestyle.

He is as real as real gets.

After releasing multiple independent albums, he broke into the mainstream with his album "Gotta Be Me," in 2016, which debuted at number two on the Billboard Country Albums chart.

His success continued with the hit song "'Til You Can't," earning him two awards at the Country Music Association Awards in 2022.

(This song really is truly beautiful. Gets you right in the feels.)

His latest album, "Human: The Double Album," showcases his versatility with both new material and covers, further solidifying his place in the country music scene.

He has a song on the album, called "The Painter", that Barstool's resident country expert Nick Fasoli played for me in his car months ago, that is absolutely incredible.

I asked Cody how he writes so poignant, beautiful songs, and he actually informed us that with all the songs he records that he does write himself, "The Painter" was not one.

Johnson's energetic live performances and down-to-earth personality have garnered him a loyal following known as "CoJo Nation." If you enjoy traditional country music with a modern touch

And you better freaking believe we are taking him up on his offer to visit his ranch and castrate and brand cattle with him next year.
