Chick-Fil-A Is Launching A Streaming Platform (Yes, You Read That Right)

I promise you this is a real thing. I know we have fired off many fake things from the Lights Camera Barstool twitter account over the years, but this is for real.

EXCLUSIVE: Chick-Fil-A is moving aggressively into the entertainment space with plans to launch a slate of originals for its own streaming platform.

Deadline understands that the fast-food firm has been working with a number of major production companies, including some of the studios, to create family-friendly shows, particularly in the unscripted space. It is also in talks to license and acquire content.

Okay, first question...

Giphy Images.

When I think of companies that don't need anything to boost their brand, it's Chick-Fil-A. But also, they're a business, and businesses need to make money, so why not!

Second question is, "how will they handle Sundays?"

I have no answer for that one, but I do know the answer to, "what will they have on this platform?"

So far, according to Deadline, it sounds like unscripted reality and gameshows (family friendly according to Deadline) will be what Chick-Fil-A goes for with its streaming service. In the future, they could dabble into scripted content, and I would wager a strong guess that they will do that rather quickly. They could also acquire content and projects as well (which I also assume they will do rather quickly).

Plenty of companies that have nothing to do with entertainment (Lyft, Airbnb, etc.) have gotten into the space lately, so this isn't that weird. It's just a little funnier since this is a company known for selling chicken sandwiches. While it is certainly funny, let's also remember that before Amazon made TV shows and movies, it just like… sold books. So, who knows, maybe Chick-Fil-A will have the cow mascot on stage at the Emmy's or Oscars one day.

As a Cane's fan, I must note that their streaming service would be a juggernaut solely based on how many celebrities love the brand. If they launched a platform, you'd have entertainers galore at the ready to make some content.
