Breaking Down Gen Z Humor vs Millennial Humor

On today’s episode of KFC Radio, Feits asked if Gen Z has an opinion on millennials. I think Jackie and Pavs had been waiting to be asked this question for a while because they kinda unloaded on millennials, and quite frankly were 100% right.

To sum it up, their thoughts are that millennials are cringy, have a low-brow sense of humor, and try to make being quirky a personality trait. There’s nothing they love more than a good “That’s what she said” joke.

Giphy Images.

To steal from Jackie, they’re the human embodiment of a Forever 21 shirt that says something like, “I Love Tacos”.

Now, I’m gonna guess that the majority of people reading this right now are millennials (Minus my parents. Love you guys.) so I don’t want any smoke, but if the shoe fits. I feel like the best person to represent the cringe millennial is a high school English teacher. Never in my life have I come across a group of people more desperate to be looked at as cool in the eyes of kids than every English teacher I had throughout my high school years.

Every day they would walk into that school with three goals in mind (In order from most to least important in their eyes):

  1. Be viewed as cool in the eyes of their students

  2. Hit on another teacher

  3. Brighten the minds of America’s youth

The big thing they would do is cling onto a pop culture trend or show like their life depended on it and make that their only personality trait for the entirety of the year. Like yes Ms. Jacobs, I understand that you’re back at it again with the white Vans, but that was 6 months ago…get some new material.

One thing that needs to be made clear, though, is to not confuse English teachers trying to be cool with History teachers. They were always just legitimately cool people.

The millennials v. Gen Z discussion was a real eye-opening moment for the millennials in the room, so be sure to listen to today’s episode to hear the full discussion.
