Pedro Grifol Fired After Leading Your Beloved Chicago White Sox To A .319 Win Percentage Over The Last Two Seasons

My gut tells me this decision was mercifully made by Chris Getz and Co. like... 10 games into the 21 game skid my beloved Chicago White Sox just culminated, and they didn't want him to literally end his career in the middle of a historic losing streak. It's not like they were going to lose like 70 straight games to end the season, so that decision is fine considering Jesus, Buddah, Me, L. Ron, or any other deity couldn't manage this roster to anything even close to a .500 clip.

Rest easy, Pedro, and thank the heavens above you didn't qualify for any "all time" lists, because you'd be going down as one of the absolute worst MLB managers in history in terms of win percentage if you did with that .319 clip you managed this roster to:

But at the same time, I feel like Robin Williams in "Good Will Hunting." I want to grab your puffy little 4-eyed cheeks, shake em and tell you, "it's not your fault"

You were handed a band of misfits. Once again, nobody was winning with what you were handed. That's not to say you didn't stink at your job, because you did, but you signed a contract that was destined to fail because the head honcho of the organization utterly refuses to surround himself with people other than yes men, adapt to the modern game, and spend money on the best talent when available.

That part wasn't your fault.

I don't know how or why this turned into an open letter to Pedro Grifol but I decided for a minute to run with it there. So who's next? Will it be my newly anointed pal and 2005 World Series hero AJ Pierzynski? Will Ozzie get another crack at the gig? Will Getz dig the bottom of the barrell for more Royals?

Decisions, decisions. Truthfully, it actually seems like they have something good cooking on the pitching development side of things in the minors. Their number 1 goal this winter should be figuring out how to teach their "kids" how to hit a baseball and completely revamping their LatAm scouting department, because it seems non-existent.

Until then just hand Montoyo the keys to the Pinto and let him ride out this complete embarrassment of a season. Or let the batboy manage like that one movie about the Twins. I don't know and I don't care.

EDIT: I changed my mind -

Still though…
