'We're Not Feeding Them The Best' - British Swimmer Adam Peaty Claims Athletes Are Finding Worms In The Fish They Are Eating At Olympic Village

[Source] - “I like my fish and people are finding worms in the fish," Peaty said. "It’s just not good enough. The standard, we’re looking at the best of the best in the world, and we’re feeding them not the best."

They will not eat the bugs! We will not eat the bugs! I can't think of something more gross that's realistic than finding worms in your food. We know these Olympics have been a disaster in terms of what's going on at the Village. Every day there seems to be a complaint about no A/C, not enough food, dirty food and things like that. He's far from the first person to tear Olympic Village for being a shitshow.

Now it's worth noting that this has been denied

Now, a committee representing Sodexo Live! — the vendor company in charge of food at this year’s Games — alleged that there is “zero proof” to Peaty’s claims.

“There has been zero proof of the truthfulness of this statement, which obviously raises a rather serious allegation.

I don't even know how you get to this point. If you're arguing about whether or not there are worms in food, you're probably losing no matter what. I don't care if there's no proof, you don't just make up that someone saw worms in their fish. You try to sit there and enjoy some mahi mahi and see something that's close to a worm and you're going to freak out. Call me a simpleton but I like my food normal - some seasoning, some sauce and no worms or bugs of any sort.

Paris tried to do this whole 60% less meat thing for the carbon foot print. You can't do that at the Olympics. You're talking world class athletes who eat specific things. Little secret - most want meat. Peaty even says so, he's not going to change what he eats while he's at the Olympics. Can't be serving worms, fish and run out of food. Like I said, if you're putting out statements about no worms being found you already lost.
