I Am Going To The Olympics!

Good morning from JFK, where I am currently beginning the last minute power move of my life (so far). Last week, I decided to pull the trigger to catch the final stretch of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

My brother has been working there for the entire duration of the Games and happens to have an extra air mattress at his AirbNB, so why not? How many times will an opportunity like this ever come up? Perhaps never again. I'm in the middle of a major career transition, the American sports calendar remains slow (football can't come soon enough), and the geographic flexibility allows this opportunity to become realistic. YOLO. Trigger pulled.

This will be my first time in Paris, and just my second time on European soil (the first was earlier this summer for a bachelor party in Amsterdam). In addition to walking around the city and sightseeing, I have already secured a ticket to two major events:

Thursday Night: Athletics (including Noah Lyles potentially running at the 200M Final)

Saturday Night: Men's Beach Volleyball Gold & Bronze Medal Matches

I am hoping to head to as many events as possible, so the ticketing app will be my best friend for the next few days (I wish the Gametime app existed in France!) It would obviously be a dream to head to a USA Men's Basketball Game, but those tickets are understandably very difficult to find and incredibly expensive.

As for other events I have my eyes on to potentially buy tickets for, I would absolutely LOVE to witness a Table Tennis match. I feel like I kind of have to, for my brand at least. I am the BITO, after all (despite not working out of the office anymore). Water Polo and Golf are on the radar, too.

I am definitely going to set some time aside to explore the city itself, too. Any food or tourist attractions? Send them my way. More to come from Paris, including short-form videos, blogs, and more. USA. USA. USA.
