Snoop Dogg is Reportedly Being Paid $500k Per Day (Plus Expenses) to Galavant Around Paris at This Years Olympics
The Independent - Henry L McNamara – a New York-based venture capitalist and Forbes 30-Under-30 honoree – recently took to X, formerly Twitter, to share Snoop Dogg’s supposed Olympics paycheck. “Sat next to an NBC exec at dinner,” McNamara wrote on August 4. “He said Snoop gets paid $500,000 a day plus expenses to be here promoting [the] Olympics.
“From ‘Gin and Juice’ to a few million to be a celebrity at the Olympics – what a world,” he added.
The Grammy-nominated artist touched down in Paris, France, ahead of the Olympics opening ceremony on Friday, July 26. He is scheduled to provide commentary for NBC until the end of the Olympics on Sunday, August 11. According to McNamara, Snoop Dogg will allegedly cash in a whopping total of $8m for the entire 16-day span of the Paris 2024 Olympics.
In 1993, Snoop Dogg, along with his bodyguard, were charged with first-degree murder of a rival gang member. He managed to beat the case. Him and his bodyguard were both acquitted. But that didn't matter. For the next however many years, the general public saw Snoop Dogg as a violent criminal. To be fair to the general public, he did continue rapping openly about committing crimes. He aggressively promoted marijuana use at a time where smoking a joint was on par with injecting black tar heroin into your veins. He was unanimously considered by everyone with any sort of platform to be a terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad apple. A troubling influence on the impressionable children of America. He was too violent, even for rap music, they said.
But fast forward to 2024. Snoop Dogg is now being paid $500,000 per day (plus expenses) by NBC to dress up in fun outfits and wander aimlessly around the Olympics with seemingly zero restrictions whatsoever.
I don't know when exactly it happened. I'm sure it was gradual. But the old whites across America all seem to have completely forgotten what Snoop Dogg used to represent to them. Snoop Dogg is now seen as an adorable, harmless mascot of a human being who stands for nothing more than good family values and having a nice wholesome time.
Not only do people enjoy Snoop Dogg's presence… they are genuinely cumming all over themselves every time he pops up on their screen. The reverence with which people speak on his name is akin to the way a Catholic Priest speaks about Jesus Christ in a Sunday sermon.
"The single greatest thing that has ever happened in the history of the world."
"The polar opposite of 9/11"
All things that have certainly been said about Snoop Dogg at some point over the past week and half. Probably live on cable.
Snoop Dogg's transformation from gracing the cover of Newsweek with the caption, "When is rap 2 violent?", to being on live on air sharing a booth with Martha Stewart in full equestrian gear commentating on a Polish athlete who named her Olympic horse after one of his songs…
It's one of the more impressive things I've ever witnessed. That's the American dream.
Snoop Doog is being paid $8 million over the course of 16 days to do what millions of people across the world would consider the experience of a lifetime. I'm bet there's people out there rich enough that they would pay $8 million to experience what Snoop Dogg has been able to at this years Olympics. The affect Snoop Dogg has on people is fascinating. He doesn't have to do a single thing. He simply has to stand there (sometimes in costume) and half-heartedly dance in front of a camera a few times a day . Few people other than Snoop Dogg (and maybe Shaq) can pull off something like that. Good for you Snoop. Keep up the good work existing.
