In The Biggest No Brainer Move Of All Time, Jalen Brunson Has Been Named Knicks Captain

NY Post - Jalen Brunson has been the Knicks’ leader. But Tuesday they made it official, honoring him as their first team captain in years.

“The New York Knicks have a deep and storied history and today we are immensely proud to add to that lineage by naming Jalen Brunson as our captain,” team president Leon Rose said in a statement.

“Jalen is a natural born leader, and I am confident he will continue to represent our organization, fans, city and his teammates with the same heart, grit and class he has displayed each and every day since he came to New York.”

Brunson came to New York two seasons ago as a free agent, and transformed the franchise in those short couple of campaigns.

Tuesday they made him their first team captain since Lance Thomas back in 2018-19.

Absolute no brainer move. Brunson captivated this city like no other, took a discount leaving 100+ million on the table to try and bring a title to MSG. Of course you name him the captain. In fact if they didn't there should have been a riot. Brunson is the most team guy we may ever see don a Knicks uniform, it's fitting that uniform has a C on the chest. Happy for Brunson, and happy for The Knicks future with the Nova core.
