There's A Growing Possibility That Warner Bros Is Going To Have Charles Barkley Help Save NHL Coverage As Well As The News

While the whole NBA on TNT ordeal is still being sorted out with no clear end in sight given that things are heading to court, it's time to start mentally preparing for the very possible reality that Inside The NBA is cooked, and as a result, Shaq, Kenny, Chuck and Ernie will be out of our lives for the first time in decades.

So with all this newfound time in their hands, what is Warner Bros/TNT going to do? Easy, just have Chuck work everywhere else

Now I don't know much about TV jobs or responsibilities, but this seems to be a no brainer idea to at least pitch to him. It's not as if Chuck has never talked NHL or been part of their broadcasts, shit he just did it this summer and it was great

The beauty of Chuck is it doesn't matter what the topic/show is. You put that man on TV and he's going to deliver. There's a reason he's arguably the most entertaining TV personality on the planet right now and why he can basically do whatever he wants. If you're Warner Bros and you want more people to tune into your NHL coverage, the easiest solution of all time to that problem is putting Charles Barkley on TV. It doesn't matter if he has no clue who the players are or what's going on in the league, we've been watching that on Inside The NBA for 20+ years! All you need is a camera and a mic and Chuck will do the rest.

What I love about this idea isn't just the NHL part, but also the news part. Now we're cooking with gas. It's no secret that the world is a gigantic shitstorm right now. Watching the news is depressing as shit with everything going on. You know what helps soften that blow? Charles Barkley. You're telling me you're not going to tune into the nightly news if Chuck is involved? You're lying. What better way to make us all feel slightly better about everything going to shit around us than having Charles Barkley make some jokes while delivering the bad news.

At the end of the day, I think most will agree that the actual solution to this problem would be to just figure out a way to keep Inside The NBA going, but that dream feels as dead as ever. What a fumble from Adam Silver if it leads to Chuck doing NHL coverage while the NBA is focused on whatever the hell happens with Amazon. Sure you made $78B for the owners, but as fans we don't care about that. We care about being entertained, and now NBA fans are going to potentially have to watch hockey just to see Chuck on TV? That's a disaster.
