Good Luck Finding Dumber Spies Than Canada Soccer - Coach E-Mailed An HR Consultant Openly Admitting 'A Whole Operation' Of Spying

[Source] - Priestman sent an email to an external human resources consultant who works with Canada Soccer on the same day.

“Seeking your advice and input here regarding this formal email on spying,” Priestman wrote. “It’s something the analyst has always done and I know there is a whole operation on the men’s side with regards to it.”

Priestman wrote that a different Canada Soccer employee had worked recently with her staff “and he was outstanding in this area.”

I know people want to feel bad for the players on Canada because they were deducted 6 points at the Olympics. Despite being 2-0-0 they have 0 points and need a win over Colombia to qualify for the quarterfinals. But rules are rules. You can't use drones to spy on opposing teams. 

You know what? I'm starting to think 6 points isn't enough for how dumb Canada is. The coach e-mailing an HR consultant openly admitting to spying techniques is easily the worst spy move of all time. Everyone knows you can't e-mail or text someone. You go talk to them. When you're discussing spying don't put evidence out there. That's JV spying at best. Oh if that's not enough, she explains 'everyone does it.' 

“Yesterday in a meeting when discussing, I asked [the analyst] to propose a alternative [sic] solution as for scouting it can be the difference between winning and losing and all top 10 teams do it,” Priestman wrote to the human resources consultant.

Sure, everyone might do it, but not everyone gets caught. It's that simple. You can't sit here and claim all top-10 teams do it (US men's is clear of cheating) without clear evidence. Pretty sure a 'yeah, but everyone else' doesn't hold up in the court of soccer law. The players can say they didn't cheat, but welcome to sports. You play for a cheater, your whole federation is in a cheating scandal, no one should feel bad. Hell, it might not even matter considering a win puts you in the quarterfinals. 

At least learn how to spy better. Never, ever, e-mail HR admitting to it all.
