Twisters Blew Me Away, Kind Of

Twisters is this year's big summer blockbuster, which for some reason came out after July 4th? Anyways, they had a scene where there were multiple tornados to call it Twisters, and not really have much association with the original Twister. Overall this movie has a ceiling. There is no way it'll sweep awards season, but it was very much a fun movie. Sure, it has very cheesy parts, but overall this was a fun watch and something that'll be on TNT for the next 40 years soon.

My final thought is if you're in the mood for a natural disasters movie, this flick absolutely delivers. I'd watch it again on an airplane in 10 years. I do not think you really need to see it in IMAX, BUT if you've got an IMAX with Dolby Digital surround sound and all the bells and whistles I could see it enhancing it a bit. If you were on the fence about the movie cause it's about a tornado, and you want a well acted drama with Oscar buzz, this isn't the movie for you. Again, depends on your mood, but I was in the mood for a movie about tornados, didn't take it too seriously, and had a blast. 8.1/10 from me.
