Guys Whiffing Shots, Rory Hitting One 5 Yards - Royal Troon Is Delivering The Beautiful Carnage We All Were Begging To See

I said it yesterday, I'll say it again. One of the beauties of links golf is how many guys are not used to playing it, throw in the weather and course layout and you're getting this. By this I mean carnage. The carnage that all of us sitting in a recliner, the couch or in an office were begging to see. The low scores at Valhalla? That's fine for a tournament. I don't want every tournament that way. I want to see these guys begging for a par. I want to see back-to-back 9s. 

But it's more than that. We're seeing guys just whiff shots. 

Obviously the fescue and gorse are coming into play. That's the beauty of the course layout with the wind. Even Rory can barely hit the ball. 

Justin Thomas had the lead at a point yesterday. Surely, he's playing well.

Lowry has gotta be loving this. Same with Dan Brown, Billy Horschel, Burmeister and Scottie. They are all in the clubhouse watching this unfold and sitting in the top-5. Justin Rose is playing well but still has 5 holes left in this. Gotta hope to stay at -3 and get out of there. Niemann was playing well at one point, until he took an 8 on 8. 

The cut line started today around +3, it's now looking to be more +5 or +6. Fuck yes. I want to see these guys hit shots that I'm going to hit in Ireland next month. Can't wait. Can't wait to be pissed off in the most beautiful place on Earth. Oh, that's right. Francis and the Foreplay boys aren't the only guys who get to golf nice courses (it's a once in a lifetime trip for me, I'm not that lucky). 

Big day for all of us cheering for the course. This afternoon swing is brutal.
