'I Don't Know What You're Good At': Lane Kiffin Brought the Heat to Paul Finebaum While Recounting All the Times He Said Kiffin's Career Was Over
Lane Kiffin was not ready to let SEC Media Days end with a whimper as he sat down with Paul Finebaum and aired out every grievance he's ever had with the ESPN host.
It's hard to tell how much of this is serious and how much is playful as Lane does his classic deadpan delivery, but I'd guess this was about 90 percent real deal. Kiffin apparently doesn't forgive very easily or forget at all.
If Kiffin is talking about his time at USC at the beginning, though, is saying he deserved to be fired really all that bad? He had one good season but was 10-8 over his last 18 games and went 7-6 with the preseason No. 1 team in the country. His firing was not a shock. It's great that he ended up having a good career after that and has found his way back to being successful on a big-time stage, but without knowing what exactly Finebaum said, it's not crazy for him to have been criticizing Kiffin during his time in Los Angeles.
"I don't know what you're good at," is a fire line, though. Kiffin definitely cooked there, regardless of how much ground he really had to stand on to begin with.
College Football 25 is out, coaches are yelling at Paul Finebaum ... we're so close, boys.
