No Offense, But Spain Needs To Chill The Hell Out

One of the best things about America is that we are the best sports country on the planet. We have the most Olympic medals by at least a thousand. We've won pretty much every major international sporting competition aside from the World Cup. Name another country that has ever won a Super Bowl--you can't.  The sporting world runs through the United States of America.

But Spain decided to pop off yesterday and have an all-time day. Pretty sure there are fewer than 50 million people in Spain. But somehow it seems like all 50 million of them are absolute freaks. For starters, you had Carlos Alcaraz winning his 2nd straight championship at Wimbledon (and his 2nd straight major after winning at Roland Garros a few weeks ago).

From there, Spain saved the world from dealing with insufferable English fans over the next few years by making sure the Euro title wasn't coming home.

And if that wasn't enough for the day, Sergio Garcia went ahead and got his first LIV individual win while playing at Valderrama in front of the home fans.

I'm pretty sure Running of the Bulls happened this weekend, too.

Good news is that it's not like USA didn't pick up any major wins of our own yesterday. The New Jersey 5's won the Major League Pickleball midseason tournament yesterday, so there's that. Arguably as prestigious as a win at Wimbledon.

But yeah. The fact of the matter here is that USA is the best sports country in the world and it's pretty fucked up that Spain decided take that from us for a little yesterday. Either they need to chill out and take the next few months off from winning anything big, or it's on.
