Dropping A Home Run Ball And Causing Your Kid To Cry Has To Be One Of The Worst Dad Moments Imaginable

DADDY NOOOOOO!!! That poor kid just watched an entire childhood melt right way in his father's stone hands. Now was it an easy grab? Of course not. It hit him in the mitts but it's not like it was right in his breadbasket. I feel like people (or just any male with functional limbs) gets ultra hate for dropping a foul ball/home run even though most times it's unpredictably LAUNCHED your way. That Schwarber bullet was fired at 108.8 mph towards the gloveless Dad on the 2nd deck. That ain't an simple snag by any means. Good try, good effort by Pops. Great looks, greater vibes by the Phillies usher retrieving a ball for the kid and ensuring his childhood won't go down in flames. That is unless another Joe Carter moment comes around. Damn that man for ruining all hope in life/God for me.

And just so you know we're not biased in terms of supporting that ubiquitous Dad life, here's a Braves Pop making a supreme grab while holding his daughter...then rightfully chucking the Phillies home run ball back on the field. Respect. Probably the best Dad snag moment out there.

PS - Still one of the greatest Dad moments in Citizen's Bank history. The fact this was 15 years ago sincerely hurts the soul.
