'Nosferatu' Just Dropped It's First Trailer And We Are Looking At The Horror Movie Of The Year

A gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman and the terrifying vampire infatuated with her, causing untold horror in its wake.

I tell you what, folks, this is how you sell a horror movie. Nice and simple tease, setting the table without spoiling any of the scares. In this case, show off the all-star supporting cast AND, very wisely, do NOT show off your villain. Let the audience experience that in theaters. Even though vampires are an extremely well-tread on subject matter, it's hard not to get excited about Robert Eggers interpretation of them. 

If you aren't immediately familiar with Eggers, he is a horror savant. He previously directed 'The Witch', which introduced the world to the now-superstar Anya Taylor-Joy as well as the slightly more dense 'The Lighthouse' and 'The Northman'. These movies aren't for everyone, but its hard to argue that Eggers doesn't had a masterful grip on dreary, gothic horror. That is basically the prerequisites for handling anything vampire related, so this should have you pumped up if you are a horror fan. 

I would expect to see incredible production value, extremely intense conversation scenes and a rendition of genre unlike any in recent memory. 

P.S. Simon McBurney was a sneaky great add to this cast. I'm not sure that there are many more distinct looking actors in the game right now. Whenever she shows up, you're about to see a very intense scene (whether the movie is good or bad). A great example is this scene from 'Allied'.
