Surviving Barstool S4 Ep. 2 | No One is Safe With Survival at StakeWATCH NOW

Wild Bill And Whitey Are Hittin the Road

I sometimes read books. Books are wild because you realize humanity's truly a circle. Every human in history has dealt with similar iterations of the same problem. I used to think English class was bullshit but literally every problem or historical event is like a play that is set in a different time period or setting. So I like to read books from time to time because they might help shed light on modern-day problems or whatever I am dealing with in life.

Recently I got into Steinbeck because people in high school used to call me Lenny from of Mice and Men. I read the book to get the reference truly, and yes… Now I get it.

I stumbled upon another one of his books "Travels With Charley: In Search Of America" and it was an awesome story about a guy driving around the country with his dog. That got me thinking: My dog, Whitey, loves hiking and road trips. He lives in an apartment but as much as I can I love getting out of the city to hike and let him run. There's nothing Whitey likes more then hopping in the car knowing we are about to go somewhere. He knows that if he's getting in the car we are going somewhere fun. It's gotten to the point where if he hears the car drive away without him he goes nuts.

Whenever I am on vacation without him it sucks. I always end up going for a run in new terrain, places he would love, and going on drives with air he would love the new smell of. The difference between flora and fauna even a 3-hour drive away is distinct even for a human, imagine the intricacies of a dog's nose that could read encyclopedias of new information.

Next week I have a conference for my other job across the country, and then on July 4th I am supposed to be visiting family that lives even further out West as well. At this moment flying is the best method of travel but unfortunately due to COVID you can't fly with big dogs anymore. Fuck Dr. Fauci for robbing my dog of the ability to see the world.

(Yes I am part-time at Barstool I explained this when I left PMT, I wanted to gain job experience in other sectors because hey who knows you might get kicked off a podcast you helped build from scratch that is now using topics that you begged to do months ago but they now are doing because they are trying to fill a void. Also let's say my new podcast Audiocraic may not keep trending upward, get no sponsors, and I won't be making the company money and we all know what happens from there.)

This got me thinking though- Yes I have started a new podcast that is entirely interview-based. It's interview-based because I knew I had to start something ASAP and it's hard to find a cohost to commit with you on such short notice. Realistically I am also interviewing people to see if they would like to be my cohost. One of the things that made Pardon My Take so successful was the mobile guerrilla interview. Vanny Woodhead allowed them to collect interviews they wouldn't have been able to get stationary. So in thinking about all of this, I came up with a plan.

In the next week, I am going to go on a road trip from the northeast to the southwest, to the Great Plains and back.

I have a handful of interviews planned for the next week that I hope to do out the back of the truck. I will still be posting blogs and Audiocraic will continue as scheduled twice a week. I just have been itching for adventure. Maybe it's because I've been through a lot professionally over the last year. I went to Uganda twice to play football again, lost twice but gained so much. I ran for Congress and got attacked by the full force of the system and had to suspend the campaign. I left one podcast, got booted from another, and started my own show. I just want to kind of hop on the open road and look at the horizon for hours and miles. It's the only way I can think clearly tbh. I am going to tik tok vlog the journey. Adventures with Whitey: Reveling in America. Hopefully, the short-form content will go viral.

Wild Bill Just needs to get back on the open road.

Hell if it checks out I may return to Amarillo to do the 72-ounce steak challenge again. I really have no plans. This weekend I hope to make it to Las Vegas by Monday. After a couple of interviews then I will be going north during the July 4th break.

Stay tuned for the Journey I have around 3,000 miles to cover by Monday. It should be a fun time. Follow on Instagram and TikTok. Too late to discover new lands, too early to discover new planets.
