Why Do Hotel Rooms Change Things Around?

I took this photo last night when I came back to my room after a day at the office. To set the scene, I checked in before I went by the office and then came back after Trivia. The maids came by somewhere in between that time frame. Before I left, I 100% shut the blinds with the heavy covers to black out the lights. See below.

When I came back last night, the blinds were open to how they are in the first picture. To which I ask … "why?"  Why on earth would someone touch the blinds and set them to their liking which goes DIRECTLY AGAINST the way they were set by the person staying in the room?

I am not here to complain or cry etc, but I am truly baffled as to why the staff would change something just to change it. Also, what does it matter to them whether the blinds are open or not? Is there a real change in how they clean a room depending on natural light? Again, I can make concessions on things being done their way like if I left the tv on, I can see how it makes sense for them to turn it off, or if a lamp was on, sure shut it off. Same if you leave out the ironing board etc, but the blinds is the confusing part to me.That is clearly a choice by the customer/patron to shut them, yet the staff is so hell bent on opening them. I don't understand why.

Maybe there's a reason I'm missing, maybe someone in the comment section can weigh in who worked in a hotel but as far as I'm concerned if someone staying in a room sets something to the way they like it, don't move it.
