NBA Champion Jayson Tatum Wasted No Time Talking His Shit While Celebrating The Celtics Title

I've been waiting for the moment Jayson Tatum finally became an NBA champion so he could tell the rest of the world to eat his shorts. We got a small taste of it immediately after the game with his KG impression/what can they say now quote. Then we got a little more of it at the podium during his presser, but even then he was still holding back.
What we needed was the afterparty Tatum to show up and tell us how he really feels. And you know what? He's right. Every single step of the way we were told the Celtics wouldn't and couldn't do it. We had to hear all about what would happen if they became the first team ever to blow a 3-0 lead. We had to hear all about what would happen if they choked away the title this season after spending the last 8 months kicking this shit out of every opponent that got in their way.
The majority of the Celtics commentary since October had nothing to do with their winning, but what would happen if they lose. It was sad, it was pathetic, it was predictable, and it was all for nothing.
So you know it had to feel good when Tatum dropped that mic. I can't think of a more symbolic moment that caps this title of perfectly. It was a mic drop title. A mic drop for Joe Mazzulla, a mic drop for Tatum/Brown, a mic drop for this era of Celtics basketball, a mic drop for those of us who never wavered and always believed.
We were right. We were right this entire time.
That's all I feel when I watch that Tatum video. Yes, I'm sure those who are upset that he finally got over the hump will try and clown him for using the Kanye line, but to that I say keep crying. Your teams are feeding my soul. Unfortunately, this is now your life. Jayson Tatum is an NBA Champion and he gets to talk his shit. If you don't like it, just beat him.
The problem there is if this 2024 season/playoff run has shown us anything, it's that nobody can.
