Tennessee’s Christian Moore Hit for Just the Second Cycle in College World Series History and Did It in Six Innings
If the rest of Tennessee’s baseball team was playing like Christian Moore in their College World Series opener, the Vols would be cruising to an easy win over Florida State. Instead, the Vols are down a couple runs, but it’s no fault of CMo’s.
Moore has been unbelievable all year — .376/.453/.796, 32 HR and 76 RBI in 66 games entering tonight — but hitting for the cycle in four at-bats in Omaha is legendary stuff. I was shocked to learn he’s only the second player to ever accomplish the feat in the CWS and the last guy was in the 1950s. The craziest part is this doesn’t even really feel like an unbelievable game for Moore. It’s just what he’s been doing since February.
Now we just need CMo to give the rest of the guys an inspired pep talk in the dugout to spark a late rally and get the Vols into the winners’ bracket.
