Don't Believe Him One Bit: Tiger Misses The Cut, Starts Talking About How This Could Be His Last US Open

I'm not ready for any sort of 'last' event talk from Tiger. Nope. Look, he shot a +7 but it wasn't like he was flat out awful. He missed the cut by 2. A couple putts that sat on the lip fall in and we're talking about weekend Tiger. But that's golf, baby. I also know that it's Tiger and any time he starts saying stuff like this, no matter how open-ended he leaves it, people are going to run with it.

I just refuse to believe he'd even consider this being his last one. He was too close to the cut line and he's far too stubborn to just not play the US Open again. Plus, we got Pebble Beach in 2027. That feels closer to his last one unless he can make it to Rivera in 2031. Goddamn, I can't believe 2031 is a real time where I'm like you know, not that far away. Whatever. He's not going out in 2024 at Pinehurst with the missed cut by 2.

Is it selfish of me if I want Tiger to keep on playing? Absolutely. But that's what matters as a fan. Plus, I'm an old, it starts to get weird when the guys you grew up with are all done playing. It's that way with quarterbacks in the NFL, it's close to that way in the NBA, golf is basically Tiger, Phil and Sergio. Make of that as you will. Remember, this is also Tiger talking not long after missing the cut. I don't believe this is his last, not with Pebble looming.
