WELL SHIT.

The Celts press release can tell me this is a day to day injury all they want, I don't understand how that could be possible. Granted I'm not a doctor, but you read the words "torn" and "dislocation" in regard to tendons and I don't know how that's something you just deal with after a few days. I understand that's not how things work in the real world, but to my idiot moron brain I'm not sure how you take this news any other way.

Just look at how Joe talked about it. After Game 2, there was "zero concern" from Joe.

Now that we know what happened, it's a "serious injury".

I have to be honest, that doesn't make me feel great! I am curious about that press release, because that says KP got hurt with 3:27 in the 3rd quarter. But, the play we all thought he got hurt on came in the 4th quarter with about 6 minutes left.

Why this matters is because he played the final 3:27 of that third, got subbed out, and then came back in the 4th. If you're looking for any sliver of hope that he can play on this injury, if he did in fact have this tear at the 3:27 mark of the 3rd, well that changes things. He played the rest of that quarter and looked pretty good in the 4th quarter until he fell on that PJ Washington rebound at the 6 minute mark.

At the end of the day, it's just suck a dick to the dick. After having to go pretty much the entire playoff run without KP, his return was even better than we could have imagined. Not only was he healthy, but his impact on both ends of the floor are a gigantic reason why the Celts currently hold a 2-0 lead. Without KP in the mix, it changes a lot about this matchup moving forward. The spacing, the rim protection, his mere presence on the court is as big a factor as any in this series.

The positive spinzone is the fact that the Celts are like 30-5 without Porzingis on the season. It's not like they aren't used to having to play in this situation, especially in the playoffs. But what it does do is give them a slightly smaller margin for error against a Mavs team that's going to be desperate as hell to keep their dreams of a title alive.

All we can do at this point is pray. Pray he finds a way to play. Pray there's something they can do to get him ready to go and pray he can give 10-15 minutes. That's really all I'm asking for, but at this point it feels like we should all prepare for Porzingis to miss the rest of the Finals.
