Ryan Day Didn't Get His $50K Bonus For Beating Michigan, But He Just Got A $50K Bonus For The Team's GPA

Alright, I want to clarify real quick that I did hit you all with a little clickbait in that headline. Ryan Day doesn't get 50K for beating Michigan, rather for winning the Big Ten East. But for the last 3 seasons, that's what it's taken to win the Big Ten East, so I stand by my words. So with that being said....shut the whole thing down. I will give my diploma back, and I want (my parents) $150,000 back. And stop capitalizing the word THE when referring to this school. The day that the Head Football Coach at Ohio State receives his bonus for hitting the Grade Point Average goal, but not the one for Beating Michigan (winning the Big Ten East), is the day I disassociate myself from the program. It's one thing for our coach to even negotiate a GPA incentive into his deal, but to actually attain it? When did we move the goalposts of what this program is all about.

Since when do players come to Columbus to play school? I'll tell you when we didn't.....

Back when Men were Men. All that mattered was: Beating the Rival, Winning the Big Ten, and Winning the Natty. IN THAT ORDER. Urban Meyer didn't give a fuck about character, and he sure as hell didn't care about grades. Sources: his off-the-field issues at Florida, and the guys who I sat in History of Rock and Roll class with at Ohio State. But Ryan Day took over this Ferrari, crashed it, and came out with fucking soft as nerds. Source: the last 3 years vs. Michigan. I mean, we're hitting GPA goals but not football goals. Disaster.

This may have changed with his extension, but his original contract the following incentives for on the field performance:

- Winning the Big Ten East ($50,000)

- Big Ten Coach of the Year ($50,000)

- National Coach of the Year ($75,000)

- Winning the Big Ten Championship Game ($100,000)

- Making the College Football Playoff ($200,000)

- Winning a semifinal game ($250,000)

- Winning the national championship ($350,000).

In the last three years, he has…..backed into the playoff once? 1 for 7 on his incentives. But he hit that GPA goal this year!!!!

* I will be the biggest Ryan Day fan when the season starts, but if this team doesn't Beat Michigan and win it all this year, the man has to go. Has to. Even if we get a fucking 4.0 Team GPA.
