Jose Ramirez Wants A World Series Ring So Badly That He Tried To Buy One Off His Teammate, Austin Hedges

So the Guardians catcher, Austin Hedges, won a World Series last year with the Rangers. The Guardians just stopped down in Texas last week to take a series from the defending champs, and Texas presented him with his World Series ring. He was showing it off on Chris Rose's podcast this weekend when he was asked if the Guardians players were pretty impressed with the ring, and he let everyone know that Jose Ramirez tried to buy it off him!!!

I'm not sure if this makes me more happy or more sad to hear. The man wants a World Series so badly, and we haven't won him one, so he's literally willing to pay for it. A couple notes on the video:

- This has to be a joke, right? He says that Jose loves the #11 on it, but like, no way Jose would actually buy someone's World Series ring without winning one, right?

- We NEED to win one for Jose in Cleveland. People talk about Myles Garrett, or Nick Chubb, or Deshaun Watson, or Donovan Mitchell.....but Jose Ramirez is the face of Cleveland if you ask me. The man took a hometown discount, in the prime of his career, because he LOVES Cleveland. Who has ever done that in the history of sports? In the history of Cleveland? I want him on the side of the building like LeBron used to be. He actually deserves it...

And honestly, that makes me to my next point: are we sure Jose can even afford this ring? Yes he is on a 7-year, $141 million contract which is the largest ever given out by the organization.....but it's also the most team friendly deal in the history of baseball. And he's out performed the contract by so much that I actually feel bad for him. And it's not even the clutch hits, including but not limited to a monstrous home run in the 8th this weekend, but it is also includes just how much he gets it.

Jose Ramirez does the right thing, at the right time, every single time. He literally doesn't miss. Tim Anderson can vouch for me on that one.
