Top Physicists In The Country Still Have No Idea How This Pole Goal Went In For Washington & Lee In The DIII Lacrosse Tournament
Washington & Lee threw a grenade on the DIII NCAA lacrosse tournament when they knocked off the defending champs, Salisbury. They weren't able to get the job done against Tufts last night to book themselves a trip to the national championship game. But their season didn't end before scoring one of the most ridiculous goals of the season.
Somebody forgot to tell Jed Heald that he's a defenseman. There have been some big time pole goals scored in the tournament before, but nothing like what we just saw there.
I've never been much of a scientist. I can't remember a single thing from high school physics class. But even if I knew everything there was to know about physics, that Jed Heald goal still wouldn't make a lick of sense.
I'm having a hard time figuring out how anyone gets their body in that position in the first place, let alone scoring a goal from there. His body is moving like a great white shark jumping out of the water.
Flying through the air. Twisting and turning. Somehow he gets that shot off and it ends up in the back of the net. Goalie probably wishes he would have just stayed between the pipes on that one instead of ending up on an all-time highlight reel.
